ASAA Board of Directors Meeting

Called to order by President Jeff Maynard

Present: Jeff Maynard, Brett Higgins, Daren Shumway, Daniel Mercer

Minutes from November meeting were presented and approved (Daren & Brett)

Financial report was presented and approved (Current Balance $1624.87 + $143.00)

              Motion to pardon any non-collected money from the winter social was approved

($32.50) (Daren & Jeff)

Winter Social & Bid calling contest report was given.

              W/S was a great success

              Bid calling contest was a success (Next contest will be a more traditional contest)

Old Business

              ASAA annual calendar was discussed and tabled for further review.

              We will use IT Risk Managers for the Treasures Bond ($114.82)

New Business

              The ASAA Annual Conference will be replaced with the 2010 ASAA Auctioneers Contest

              Brett Higgins will co-chair this committee with Bobby Ehlert

              Contest to be held in April

              There was a discussion about the venue.

Association Manager Position was reviewed

              Work log was submitted for review by the board

              A temporary reduction of salary from $250/week to $125/week (Brett & Daren)

              Approved on a monthly basis starting February 1, 2010

              There was discussion about the value of an A.M.

Discussion about how to increase membership

              Value of membership

              Benefits of membership

              How to create a culture of giving within the association

Committee chairmen were assigned

              Education Committee- Daren Shumway

              Membership Committee – Daniel Mercer

              Special Events Committee – Brett Higgins

              Resolution, Auditing & Grievance Committee – Jeff Maynard

President Jeff Maynard will have a membership letter ready this week

Daren Shumway donated the lunch at Tommy Bahamas’ in Scottsdale, AZ
